Perennial contributes to tree planting initiative for fourth year

Reading Time: 2 minutes
For the fourth year, Perennial has continued its partnership with One Tree Planted, an environmental non-profit organisation focused on global reforestation, to further our commitment to sustainability and extend ESG integration within our corporate strategy.
One Tree Planted

For the fourth consecutive year, a tree will be planted for every incremental direct client of Perennial as at 30 June 2024, including our investment boutique partner, Daintree Capital.

This year, the project chosen is in partnership with the Wudjari Frist Nations people to restore degraded land in Western Australia by planting biodiverse native trees.

One Tree Planted states: “This unique project is enabling true economic self-determination of First Nations people through freehold ownership of land, long-term employment opportunities and the generation of sustainable income. Seed from endemic species in the immediate vicinity of the project will be collected, processed, propagated and planted, with the aim to restore the bush as closely as possible to its original condition.”

Our partnership with One Tree Planted is one of several sustainability initiatives undertaken by Perennial. Recognised as a Responsible Investment Leader by the Responsible Investment Association Australia (RIAA) in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, we constantly strive to improve our corporate strategy in relation to sustainability. Since 2019, we have been an active supporter of Climate Action 100+, a collaborative investor-led engagement group that seeks to ensure the world’s largest corporate greenhouse gas emitters take critical action on climate change. A longstanding supporter of the Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), we also encourage companies to report under the valuable framework. In October 2021, Perennial also became a carbon neutral company for its corporate greenhouse gas emissions and in 2022 & 2023 we achieved Climate Active certification.
